ok so, my mom works at the UN and I guess she really wants to quit cause now shes taking play writing classes which i totally support. Last night she was telling me about how she is going to enter a competition and maybe win a couple thousands of dollars. She said the play had to be an Act long and it had to be about science.
Science is probably one of my favorite subjects in school, when people ask me what my favorite subject I usually say that but I actually don't think I have a favorite because for real, I like all my subjects at school. I'm not considered a "nerd" but I do actually like doing HW and I do actually like science!
In school we are learning about Bacteria and Cells and stuff like that using microscopes and text books. I think its pretty interesting. So, I thought about a good idea for the play my mom should write, I told her about it and she thought it wasn't Scientific enough but she thought it would be a great idea for a 10 minute skit that i have to write for the Downtown Art Festival.
Downtown Art is a theater company I am involved in and every year they put on three shows. One musical, One play, (both about two hours long) and one festival. I am currently in my second year. Last year I was in the musical and the festival. This year I am in the Musical again.
The festival is always after the two Main shows have already been showed to crowds for a month and then the festival starts. For the festival we had to write a ten minute skit about anything and then show it during the festival. Last year mine was about Cheerio, he was kidnapped and the dog napper fell in love with the owner.AAAAAAAAnyway, so here's my idea for the festival this year.
There will be a lady, about middle aged more close to the young side and she is a scientist, incredibly smart. But, there is one problem, after researching about bacteria and doing some experiments she starts to go crazy. She get this phobia, she knows that there is bacteria all around her and she feels like she cant seem to escape from it. Since she is a scientist she knows how dangerous bacteria can be and how good it can be for your body. She goes crazy and is running around and trying to escape the bacteria, she knows she cant but she feels so insecure with it always constantly being around her. In the end she over comes her fear.
I don't think that's going to be a ten minute skit do I might have to trim things a little but I think its an interesting idea and My mom thinks so too. What do you think?
